Description	:	Anna Parham, 79, of Anamosa died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Anamosa. The Rev. David Bracht-Wagner will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery Cemetery, Anamosa. Survivors include her husband John Sr. of Anamosa; two sons, John (Jill) of Anamosa, Mark (Debra) of Sunrise, Florida; two sisters, Lela Freeman of West Burlington, Iowa, Bernice Coleman of Independence, Missouri; one grandson, Zachary Parham; three step-grandchildren, Christopher, Richard, Genette and two step- great-grandchildren, Daphne and Abigail. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, LuAnn Parham. Anna was born July 19, 1925 at Cameron, Missouri. She was the daughter of Earl and Bessie Turner Shaver. Anna graduated from Cameron High School and was a graduate of Northwest Missouri State College. On May 3, 1947 she married John Parham Sr. at Cameron, Missouri. Anna was a teacher of young children and was happiest when she had a child in her arms and a book in her hand. She taught in Des Moines, Cameron, Missouri and Shelby, Iowa public schools and had over 1500 pre-schoolers in her basement. She was a long time Cub Scout leader, earning the Silver Beaver Award. She served as Chairman of the Anamosa Sesquicentennial in 1988 and was a 60-year member of the United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given in Annas name to Camp Courageous in lieu of flowers.
