Description	:	Gramma Traum passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. P. Witcraft, Friday evening, October 3, at 5 p. m. Gramma Traum was a native of Germany where she grew to womanhood and where she was married. Coming to America in 1869, they settled at Carroll county, Illinois, later moving to Iowa. Mr. Traum died at Aurelia, Iowa, in 1887. Following the death of Mr. Traum the deceased made her home with her children near Newell, Iowa, and later coming to Fonda, Iowa, making her home with he r daughter, Mrs. T. P. Witcraft. In 1914 Mrs. Traum... Read More	Gramma Traum passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. P. Witcraft, Friday evening, October 3, at 5 p. m. Gramma Traum was a native of Germany where she grew to womanhood and where she was married. Coming to America in 1869, they settled at Carroll county, Illinois, later moving to Iowa. Mr. Traum died at Aurelia, Iowa, in 1887. Following the death of Mr. Traum the deceased made her home with her children near Newell, Iowa, and later coming to Fonda, Iowa, making her home with he r daughter, Mrs. T. P. Witcraft. In 1914 Mrs. Traum came to Cherokee and made her home with her daughters Mrs. F. Surles and Mrs. T. P. Witcraft. Mrs. Traum's death was due to infirmities of old age, but until a few months prior to her death she was enjoying fairly good health. She was taken ill three days before her death, and despite all loving hands could do the angel of death sealed her lips in the last peaceful sleep. Her life brings to a close one well spent. Mrs. Traum was a woman of kind heart and devotion to her family. She was a member of the German Lutheran church who's teaching she constantly strove to uphold and follow through her long years and to which she clung with unfaltering steps through her life. The deceased is survived by six children, Mrs. Anna Hunt of Boone, Henry Traum of Fonda, Mrs. Frank Surles of Cherokee, Chas. Traum, Frank Traum of Boone, and Mrs. T. P. Witcraft of Cherokee. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Surles at 1 p. m., conducted in German. The remains were taken to Newell, Iowa, for burial beside her husband.
