Description	:	Anna Barkman Baerg was born January 2, 1917, to Jacob J. and Anna Toews Barkman near Swalwell, Alberta. She was relieved of her earthly life and God called her home June 13, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Her family was gathered around her bed, and shortly after a prayer was made for a quiet and peaceful passing, God graciously answered our prayer. The Lord called Mom and she made a decision... Read More	Anna Barkman Baerg was born January 2, 1917, to Jacob J. and Anna Toews Barkman near Swalwell, Alberta. She was relieved of her earthly life and God called her home June 13, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Her family was gathered around her bed, and shortly after a prayer was made for a quiet and peaceful passing, God graciously answered our prayer. Mom grew up on her parent's farm just east of Linden with her 10 brothers and sisters. She shared many happy, amusing and entertaining experiences with them. The Lord called Mom and she made a decision to serve the Lord. At the age of 15 she was baptized together with 41 other young people. She remained faithful to her vows. She was often concerned that she would be ready to meet her Lord.On August 2, 1942, Mom was married to our Dad, Peter Baerg. Their home was blessed with 5 children - 2 boys and 3 girls. Mom was a supportive wife in Dad's business ventures. Dad changed career to farming and they moved to Swalwell. In retirement they moved back to Linden. They were married for 61happy years until Dad was taken from her side 8 years ago. She determined to be happy living life on her own. Mom sold their home in Linden and moved into Lynn Haven where she resided for some years and then moved to West View Suites. After 1 1/2 years she moved to the Linden Nursing Home where she received excellent nursing care. Mom loved her family and felt a spiritual concern for them all. She was a kind and gracious person who enjoyed people. She loved teaching Bible School, serving on sewing and food committees and volunteering for local services. She enjoyed the time spent with Dad at an Out Patient Home in Carrot River, Saskatchewan. Her sense of humour and 'giving' personality made her many friends. She enjoyed gardening, especially the flowers and bird watching. We know Mom had struggles in life but we feel confident that she is resting in God's care. Those left to cherish her memory are: Jim and Marj, Norma and Ray Koehn, Diane and Lloyd Harder, Brian and Venice, and Jeannette and Rueben Mandel, all of the Linden area, 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Also remaining are 1 brother Allan and Elsie Barkman and 1 sister Linda Friesen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Doris Barkman, Nellie Barkman, Joan Barkman, Peter and Rose Dueck, Paul and Olive Baerg, Agnes Toews, Arnold and Anne Baerg, Walt and Lydda Regehr, David and Dorothy Duerksen and many nieces and nephews who were special to her. Her husband, parents, parents-in-law, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and 1 great-granddaughter preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Linden with interment in Linden Cemetery.
