Services were held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Ed Treat officiating. Mrs. Christensen was born Sept. 17, 1907, to Fred and Anna (Anderson) Bergsten in Norman. She grew up in the Norman area. She graduated from Minden High School in 1925. On Feb. 10, 1926, she married Hubert Shannon. They lived in Norman. After her husband's death in 1964, she was a nurse's aide at Kearney County Community Hospital in Minden. In 1967, she married Ernest Christensen. They lived in Minden. She retired in 1972. Her husband died in 1988. In 1989 she moved to Long Term Care. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at the hospital after retirement. Survivors are two daughters, Eleanor Deisley of Norman and Maxine Jones of Holdrege; one son, Wes Shannon of Minden; two stepsons, Dale Christensen and Vernon Christensen, both of Minden; one sister, Edna Larsen of Holdrege; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.
