April 23 1954 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. Anna Greving, 76, widow of Barney Greving died at her home in Willey at 1:30 p.m. Thursay. She had been bedfast the larger part of the last eight weeks. Her son, the Rev. Louis Greving of West Bend, will be the celebrant of solemn requiem mass at a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Willey. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 8 o'clock each night before the final rites at the Sharp Funeral Home where the body is resting. Mrs. Greving, the former Anna Brincks, was born June 24, 1877 at Willey, a daughter of John and Threasia Brincks, who were Carroll County pioneers. She attended school at Willey. Her marriage to Barney Greving took place Feb. 20, 1900, in St. Mary's Church at Willey, with the Rev. Fr. Gehling officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Greving established their home on a farm one and one-half miles south of Willey. In 1914 they moved to a farm one mile south and one-half east of Willey, where they were living at the time of Mr. Greving's death June 18, 1931. In 1941, Mrs. Greving moved from the farm into her home in Willey. Surviving are 10 children: John Greving, Mrs. Anna Haverman, Joseph H., Anthony, Paul and Bernard Greving, Carroll, Route 1; Sr. M. Dolores (Hilda), Eau Claire, Wis.; Mary and Elizabeth Greving, at home; and Fr. Louis Greving, pastor of SS. Peter & Paul's Church at West Bend. Mrs. Greving also leaves 23 grandchildren; one brother, Joe A. Brincks, Carroll, Route 1, and three sisters, Gertrude, Margaret and Elizabeth Brincks, Carroll. Two daughters Leona and Gertrude, died in infancy. Mrs. Greving was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Rosary Sodality of the parish.
