Mrs. Anna Meyer, wife of Peter C. Meyer, died at her home on Third street and Minnesota avenue last night at about one o'clock, after an illness of two weeks, the cause of death being typhoid pneumonia. On the 29th of last May Mr. Meyer was taken sick with typhoid fever and lay for seven weeks very seriously ill. for a long time his life trembled in the balance. During all this time his wife was unceasing in her attendance in his sick room and in the care of the patient. Scarcely two weeks after he had recovered she was stricken with the disease, with the result as above mentioned. Mrs. Meyer was born at Clinton, IA., March 31, 1874. With her family she came to Crawford county, IA., near Alvord, where she grew up on a farm. Later she went into the millinery and dressmaking business in that city. April 3, 1901, she was married. About a year afterwards they moved to Willmar, Mr. Meyer having secured a position as fireman on the Great Northern. Last fall he was promoted to engineer and the future looked bright to them with its promise of prosperity. The deceased was a quiet woman, who loved her home, but during her residence at Willmar she has made a number of friends, who are very much distressed at her sudden death. The sympathy of the community goes out to the widowed husband and other relatives. Deceased has a brother, Henry Meyer, and a sister, Mrs. Gust Lorenzen, both residing at Alvord, IA. The remains will be taken to that place on tonight's train for interment in the family grave lot. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Meyer, father and mother of the stricken husband, were here during the late wife's illness and will accompany the remains to their last resting place.
