ANNA COLE Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home for Mrs. Anna Cole. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. James Osborne officiating at services. Anna Simmons Cole was born June 5, 1875 in Bremer County near Waverly. She was the youngest daughter of Charles and Margaret Dolan Caswell. Her first marriage was to Samuel Simmons January 19, 1896. He preceded her in death in 1937. May 14, 1957 she was married to John Cole who died June 22, 1969. Mrs. Cole had been a member of the Republic Community Church since its founding and attended services there as long as her health permitted. She was a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge and a former Royal Neighbors member. She had been a practical nurse in the Nashua community for many years. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Nellie Speedling of Nashua, Mrs. Madge Swanson of Prairie Du Chien, Wi., Mrs. Nora Springer of Waterloo, and Mrs. Mary Ann Kammeyer of Denver. She was a lady of warmth, charm, and humor and was a great favorite of her seven grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren also the many nieces and newphews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Maurice Simmons, her parents, a sister, Mrs. Josie O'Day, and a brother, Mark Caswell. 6 OF 7 GRANDCHILDREN CAME FOR FUNERAL Among the mourners who gathered to pay their last respects to Mrs. Cole were six of her seven grandchildren and many of her 29 great grandchildren. Out of towners who were here for the funeral included several from Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. William Kammeyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Springer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Springer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Black and Harry O'Day, Mrs. Carl Brown and family were here from Independence and the Jack Springer family from Creston. Here also were Mr. and Mrs. Vince Schares and Connie of Gilbertville and the Carl Kammeyers of Denver. Coming from out of state were Mr. and Mrs. R W Law of St. Charles, Il. and Mrs. Madge Swanson of Prairie Du Chien, Wi.
