Born July 8, 1878, at Kell, Germany, she came to the U.S. in 1882, living at Fremont, Neb., where she attended schools. She also attended Fremont Normal College and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She came to Montana in 1911 and attended Montana State University at Missoula. Later she homesteaded at Big Sandy, where she taught school and was superintendent of schools. She married John H. Evers at Helena Feb. 21, 1923, and they ranched in the Shonkin area until moving to Great Falls about 1940. He died here in May 1959. Mrs. Evers was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Swan, Highwood; three nieces and a nephew, all of Fremont, Neb.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Contributed by cara (#47072115).
