Her death marks the passing of another... Read More	Stratford Courier September 11, 1924 OBITUARY Anderson Mrs. Gustaf Anderson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.E. Dahlien southwest of town the fore part of last week following several months of inactivity due to the inroads of old age. She was not ailing in any way and had not been and it was old age which was the cause of her demise. Loving relatives could notice each day that she was gradually failing and she finally entered that long sleep from which there is no awakening, quietly and peacefully, having well completed her labors on earth. Her death marks the passing of another one of the pioneer settlers of this section. It is more than fifty years ago since she and her husband located on the farm south of town on which she has since lived continuously. Two score and fourteen years is a long time to dwell in the same place yet she never faltered in her labors there and was always happy and satisfied. Her life story is not one of all pleasure but is one of happiness despite the privations which she and her family suffered in the early days, but she was happy in knowing that she was a loving mother to her children and a faithful wife to her husband, for she was a loving mother, always ready to overlook a fault in her children. Her kindly ways and her cheeriness won the hearts of all who knew her and she will long be remembered and missed by a large host of friends. Anna Charlotte Johnson was born June 4, 1840, in Flaka, Södra Vi forsamling of Kalmar Lan, Sweden, and passed away Tuesday, September 2, 1924, having attained the age of 84 years, 2 months, 28 days. She came to America arriving here May 7, 1869, and on March 7, 1870, she was united in marriage to Anders Gustaf Anderson at Boone. Following their marriage the couple moved to their farm south of town on which deceased lived until about two months ago. Four children were born to them of which two, a son and a daughter, passed away in infancy. The husband and father died June 16, 1909 and those who remain to mourn her passing are: Oscar E. Anderson, Mrs. E.E. (Selma) Dahlien, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Rena Iles and Miss Agnes Dahlien, besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the E.E. Dahlien home and were conducted by Rev. Eckeberg of Dayton. The remains were laid to rest in the Swede Bend Cemetery beside those of her husband.
