From Nevada Evening Journal May 15, 1950 (page 3) Last Rites For Mrs. Anna Larson Held on Thursday Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Larson, 79, who passed away Monday, May 8 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. O. Dillin, were held Thursday afternoon, May 11 at Central Presbyterian church at 2 p. m. with Rev. James D. Ransom, officiating. The flowers which were many and beautiful, were arranged by Mrs. Alfred Hansen and Mrs. Harry Pryor. A number of memorial gifts were also given in her memory. Mrs. J. R. Dillin was at the organ. Barbara Harris of Ames, soloist, sang "Just As I Am" and "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling." The pall bearers included James R. Dillin, William Mann, Adolph Kleinschmidt, Robert Campbell, Wm. Fudge and Ben Fetterhoff. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance at the last rites. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of the husband who passed away in 1935. In addition to bringing words of spiritual comfort to the bereaved the following obituary was read by Rev. Ransom. Obituary Anna Christine Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Johnson, was born February 6, 1871 near Norway, Benton County, Iowa. The family later moved to Wright county near Eagle Grove, Iowa, where she was joined in marriage to Joseph Larson on September 30, 1891. To this union were born eight children: twin boys who died in infancy; Ethel, Mrs. E. O. Dillin of Nevada; Della, who died in infancy; Grant, now of El Paso, Texas; Milton of Nevada; Ruby, now Mrs. Harry Havens of Waterloo; Irene, now Mrs. David Smith of Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Larson lived in Eagle Grove, then in various places in Iowa and South Dakota, including both McCallsburg and Story City in Story county. After Mr. Larson passed away in 1935, Mrs. Larson came to Nevada and has since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. E. O. Dillin. Mrs. Larson was always active in church affairs wherever she lived and was faithful in attendance at services. During her last illness her ability to recite from memory passages of Scripture and verses of hymns testified to her lifelong association with those things. She has been confirmed in the Lutheran church and a member of Immanuel Lutheran church of Story City. After several years of failing health and after months of suffering she passed away Monday, May 8, 1950. Even in the midst of her suffering and in the face of imminent death she continued patient, alert, and never lost her sense of humor nor her trust in the goodness of God. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. E. O. Dillin, Mrs. David Smith of Nevada and Mrs. Harry Havens of Waterloo; by two sons Milton of Nevada and Grant of El Paso, Texas; by four grandchildren: Neda Larson of El Paso, Patricia Smith of Nevada, Lyman and Sandara of Waterloo. She also leaves to mourn her passing, a brother, Oscar Johnson of Beulah, N. D. and a sister, Mrs. Hanna Etrim of Beloit, Wis., and a large number of nephews and nieces and many friends
