Mrs. Enloe was born January 27, 1924, at Pittsburg, Kan., the daughter of Walter B. and Alvarette Crowder Smith. Anna was a homemaker who was raised in Pittsburg and attended Pittsburg Schools. Read More	*Anna Christine Smith* Enloe 27 January 1924 - 24 January 2011 ARMA — Anna Christine Enloe*, 86, of Arma died at 6:55 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. Mrs. Enloe was born January 27, 1924, at Pittsburg, Kan., the daughter of Walter B. and Alvarette Crowder Smith. Anna was a homemaker who was raised in Pittsburg and attended Pittsburg Schools. She had been a resident of Arma since 1987. She married Wilbert L. "Ace" Enloe on December 5, 1947, in Pittsburg. Mr. Enloe preceded her in death March 6, 2004. Anna was a member of the 8 & 40 Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Grand Army of the Republic, and the Arma Belles Red Hat Society. Survivors include a son, Wilbert "Bill" Enloe of Arma; a daughter, Loretta Weyant-Stevens of Hesperia, Calif.; two brothers, Walter Smith of Belton, Mo., and Harry Smith of Pittsburg; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Mary Marie Melvin; a son, Cecil Eugene Enloe; four sisters, Mary Smith, Bertha Blasor, Dorolis Bowen, and Martha Willey; and two brothers, James Smith and Charles Smith. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma with the Rev. Tom Wehrman officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Bedene Chapel in Arma. The family suggests memorials to the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion Auxiliary. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
