PATRICK KILLIAN DEAD Mrs. Patrick Killian, a resident of Colfax county for a number of years, passed away early Monday morning at the hospital in Omaha following an operation. The remains were taken to the old home north of Rogers and the funeral rites conducted Wednesday morning at the Dublin church by Father J. S. Dobson. Interment was made in the Kelly cemetery. The deceased is survived by an only daughter, Mrs. James Riley of this and Martin, all residents of Colfax county. PATRICK KILLIAN Mrs. Patrick Killian, a resident of Colfax county for a number of years, passed away at St. Catherine's hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, Monday, March 18, 1918, following an operation the previous Thursday. She had been in ill health for the past five months with gall stones and it was necessary that an operation be performed. She seemed to get along nicely until the third day after the operation when she was taken much worse and her strength gradually ebbed away so she quietly passed onto her last sleep. The remains were taken to the farm home north of Rogers and the funeral rites conducted by Father J. S. Dobson at the Dublin church Wednesday morning of last week. Interment was made in the Kelley cemetery, where rest the remains of the husband, who died five years ago last August. The funeral was very largely attended, giving evidence of the high regard in which the deceased was held by her many friends. Mrs. Killian was born in Ballymoa County, Galway, Ireland, May 4, 1850 and passed away at Omaha, Nebraska, on March 18, 1918, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 14 days. She came to America when a young girl and made her home at Sterling, Ill. Here she was united in marriage to Patrick Killian on May 27, 1877. Seven children were the issue of this union, four of whom survive the mother, Anna, aged four years, and Edward, six years, died while the family was still residing at Sterling. Mrs. Calvin Cain, another daughter, died here a few years ago. The surviving children are, James J. and John P., both of Colfax county, Mrs. James Riley of Colfax county. The deceased is also survived by the following brothers, P. J. Murphy of Omaha, Martin Costello of Columbus, and John Costello of Colfax county. Mr. and Mrs. Killian came to Colfax county 27 years ago and began farming north of Rogers. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Killian made her home with her son, John, who lives on the old homestead. Mrs. Killian was a lifelong member of the Catholic church. Her daily life was lived in accordance with the doctrines of her chosen faith. As a wife and mother her life was filled with those characteristics that go to make her part ideal in the family circle. She was greatly respected by her friends and neighbors, who came to know her genuine worth, because of years of intimate associations with her. __ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our many friends for their kindness and sympathy shown us at the time of the death of our beloved mother.
