Anna was born on January 22, 1923, in Bellwood, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Sarah (Styer) Baer. She lived most of her life in Bellwood. (Baer) Kinnison, 92, Bellwood, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at David Place in David City. Anna was born on January 22, 1923, in Bellwood, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Sarah (Styer) Baer. She lived most of her life in Bellwood. On September 5, 1941, Anna married Robert Peter "Pete" Kinnison. She worked for Cooks Thriftway Grocery Store in Bellwood for several years. In 1975 she earned her GED. Anna was a member of the Bellwood United Methodist Church and the Women's Society. She was also member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and held local, state and national offices, serving for 5 years as the National Treasurer of the DUV. She was an avid quilt maker, volunteered at David Place and the senior center, and was very active in the church. Anna's life was one of service ~ to God, family and her country. While serving with the Methodist Women's Society, she traveled to the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky. After receiving her GED, she worked with the Nutrition Extension at UNL, helping low income families. She belonged to the Rebecca Lodge and was a lifetime member of the DUV, and those years were her greatest enjoyment. As National President, she laid a wreath at the tomb of President Lincoln and visited many battlegrounds of the Civil War. When serving as National Treasurer for 5 years, she lived in Springfield, Illinois, overseeing the Union Civil War Museum. She loved to travel and had visited Alaska, Hawaii and Ireland. She is survived by: two daughters, Beverley (Terry) Kilgore, and Eileen Vrabcak and her special friend John Smiley; son, Charles (Nadine) Kinnison; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert Michael Kinnison, and a great-grandson, Justin Kucera. Funeral service on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Bellwood Methodist Church.
