MYERLY Anna cover, daughter of Joel and Olive Cover, was born near Millersburg, Iowa, April 8, 1856 and departed life Friday evening, Dec. 4, 1925, aged 69 years, 7 months and 26 days. Her childhood and youth were spent in the place of her birth. She was united in marriage Dec. 16, 1877, to John F. MYERLY Anna cover, daughter of Joel and Olive Cover, was born near Millersburg, Iowa, April 8, 1856 and departed life Friday evening, Dec. 4, 1925, aged 69 years, 7 months and 26 days. Her childhood and youth were spent in the place of her birth. She was united in marriage Dec. 16, 1877, to John F. Myerly of Deep River, Iowa, near which place they have resided for nearly forty-eight years. She is survived by her husband, six grandchildren and nine grandchildren. The children namely are: Frank E. of Bell Plaine, Gail McKain of Gibson, Verna Wilhite of Corwith, Grover Myerly and Zelma Maxwell of What Cheer and Glen C. who lives hear home. Winnie, the eldest having died in infancy. She is also survived by a brother, Horace Cover of Millersburg, two sisters having preceded her in death. At the age of fourteen she was united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Mount Zion and later in life she, with her husband united with the Christian church of Deep River and ever remained faithful to her God. She was also a member of the Eastern Star of Deep River. She has left a vacant space that none can fill, having been a faithful wife, kind and loving mother. We shall miss her and during the last few days of suffering has she not been saying to us all in the words of another: "Sometimes at the eve when the tide is low I shall slip my mooring and sail away, With no response to the friendly hail Of kindred craft in the busy bay, in the silent hush of the twilight pale. When the night stoops down to embrace the day, And the voices call in the waters flow; Sometime at eve when the tide is low, A few who have watched me sail away Will miss my craft from the busy bay. Some friendly barks that were anchored near, Some loving souls that my heart hold dear, In silent sorrow will drop a tear. But I will have peacefully furled my sail In morings sheltered from storm and gale, And greeted the friends who have sailed before, O'er the unknown sea to the unseen shore." Mrs. Myerly was stricken on Thanksgiving Day but was not confined to her bed until Tuesday. All was done to comfort her that loving hands here could do, and on Friday evening God called her to him. The funeral services were held (the rest of the obituary is missing) Cedar Rapids Republican, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, December 9, 1925: SNOW HINDERS FUNERAL DEEP RIVER - Dec. 9 - More than 100 men were required to clear the path for the funeral procession of Mrs. John Myerly, the snow between here and the cemetery, a distance of six miles, being 10 to 12 feet deep in some places. It was necessary to shovel snow nearly the entire distance.
