Description	:	—— Mrs. Elizabeth Gerdeman, widow of the late Henry Gerdeman, for years a prominent merchant of this city, died suddenly Saturday morning of paralysis of the heart, at the home of her son, Mr. Henry Gerdeman, 326 North Mechanic street, aged 75 years. She was taken ill on Thursday afternoon, though it was then not thought seriously. Shortly after retiring at 11 o'clock last night, Mrs. Gerdeman was suddenly seized with illness and lapsed into unconsciousness, death ensuing within a brief time. Mrs. Gerdeman was a kind and charitable woman, and was held in high esteem. For a life time, the deceased was an active and consistent member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church. The following children survive: Messrs. John, Henry, Bernard and Norman Gerdeman, sons, and daughters Miss Rose Gerdeman, Cumberland; Mrs. P.A. Hast, Elkins, Mrs. J.T. Ruppert and Mrs. W.J. Cook, both of this city. The Cumberland Alleganian, Thursday, November 18, 1909 The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Gerdeman, who died Saturday morning at 1:30 o'clock of paralysis, at her home, 362 North Mechanic street, took place this morning at 9 o'clock with high requiem mass in SS. Peter and Paul's Church. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The funeral cortege was a long one, and the floral tributes many and beautiful. The pallbearers were Messrs. Espy Lehman, Theodore Thumel, Wm. Fitzgerald, J.T. Mattingly, Peter Hart, Wm. T. Mullin, A. Burkey, and J.M. Mattingly.
