From Nevada Evening Journal July 11, 1932 (page 1) ANNA LOUGH-SMITH DIED ON SUNDAY NEVADA WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH; FUNERAL ON TUESDAY Mrs. Anna Lough-Smith died at Iowa sanitarium Sunday afternoon about 1:30, having been there since July 4, since which time she had submitted to a surgical operation. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, at the Methodist Episcopal church, with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton, assisted by Rev. C. E. Lookingbill, in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. The deceased, whose maiden name was Anna Hanson, was a native of Denmark, where she was born December 7, 1866. Her parents died when she was yet a child and she came to America when a girl of 18 years. She was united in marriage to Charles Lough of Nevada at Cedar Rapids, May 3, 1903 and they settled on a farm near Madison, S. D. There they lived until the death of Mr. Lough, September 26, 1919. Later Mrs. Lough returned to Nevada and was married, at Mason City, on June 10, 1930 to Oscar Smith of Nevada. Mr. Smith passed away December 20, 1931, since which time she had continued her home in Nevada. While she leaves no known blood relatives in this country, she does leave a wide circle of friends who will long retain a most kindly regard and memory of her.
