Up to the time of her death she had enjoyed fair health and only the Sunday before she was round among the worshippers of her church. On the Monday following she complained of a severe headache and immediately fell into a state of unconsciousness from which the best of medical aid was not able to rouse her. Paralysis brought her noble life to an end at 9:30 in the evening. On Thursday afternoon services were conducted for her by Rev. L. Kolb of the German Lutheran church of Mackey. After a brief service at the home of her son, Martin, where she had made her home for some years the many friends and relatives repaired to the church, of which she had been a lifelong member. The sermon was based upon the text 1st John 1, 7. The choir of the congregation and the children of the parish school furnished the songs. Interment took place at the church cemetery. Anna E. Wilhelm was born May 20, 1838, in Hessia, Germany. In the year 1856 her parents emigrated to Herkimer county, New York. Two years later she was married to Konrad Klippel. In 1871 the Klippels came to Benton county, Iowa, and eight years later they moved to Guthrie county, Iowa (1879). After three years they returned to Benton county (1882), and in 1896 they settled on a farm in Boone county, where Mrs. Klippel resided to the time of her death. Her husband and eight of the twelve children born to this happy union preceded her in death. The surviving children are Martin Klippel, and Mrs. John Michel of Boone county, Mrs. Jake Schnigle Oklahoma, and Mrs. Chris Leininger, of Spokane, Washington, besides twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her age at the time of her death was 75 years and 8 months. Mrs. A.K. Klippel was a consistent and faithful Christian woman. She set a splendid example for others by her regular attendance at divine services in spite of her infirmities and by her many charities. The last years of her life were devoted to a close scrutiny of the needs of Christ’s kingdom and it gave her great pleasure to contribute liberally to missions and charitable institutions, often at great sacrifice to her own comforts. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Children: (per 1900 census she only claimed 6 children-w/one deceased) Frederick - 1860 New York George - 1862 Mary - 1863 Julia - 1866 Susan E. - 1868 Lydia - April 1870 Martin - Oct 1882
