She departed this life July 22, 1978, after a lengthy illness, in the Ridgevalley Home, Crooked Creed, Alberta, reaching the age of 88 years, 3 months, and 7 days. The last two months she was mostly bedfast. At the age of fourteen, she was converted and baptized upon the confession of her faith, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. She had a strong faith in God which helped her through her many trials and struggles. She was especially interested in helping those in need. She found her first companion in John Isaac. They were married in April, 1912. This union was blessed with ten children. They lived in various places in Alberta and Manitoba. John passed away of heart failure while working in the bush near Steinbach, Manitoba, in February, 1926. Soon after this, Mother moved with her family to Linden, Alberta, and in 1936, they moved to Crooked Creek, Alberta. She found her second husband in Abe E. Giesbrecht from Greenland, Manitoba. They were married August 20, 1944. With this marriage, she accepted his three daughters, and Abe accepted her seven sons and three daughters. They made their home at Crooked Creek. The last two and a half years they lived in the Ridgevalley Home. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband Abe Giesbrecht; twelve children: Simon and Susie Isaac, Rosenort, Manitoba; Philip and Alda Isaac, Crooked Creek; Henry and Margaret Isaac, Clearbrook, British Columbia; Helen and Peter Friesen, Edmonton, Alberta; Katherine and Ed Carpenter, Aldergrove, British Columbia; John and Mary Isaac, Fort Vermillion, Alberta; David and Eleanor Isaac, Edmonton, Alberta; Mary and Bill Reimer, Faulkland, British Columbia; Peter and Florence Isaac, Crooked Creek; Lavina and Ron Godfrey, Calgary, Alberta; Helen and Peter T. Isaac, Rosenort, Manitoba; Margret and Doug Kerr, Oyama, British Columbia; also two daughters-in-law: Anna, Mrs. George Isaac, Heart Valley, Alberta, and Ruth Isaac of Edmonton, Alberta; two sisters, Helen and Agnes; one brother, Jacob Esau; sixty-seven grandchildren; eighty-nine great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her first husband, John; one son, Abe; one grandchild; four brothers; and five sisters. Funeral services were held on July 26, 1978, in the Rosedale Church, Crooked Creek, Alberta, with Ministers Joseph Isaac and Peter Thiessen in charge. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.
