Description	:	Former area resident Anna F. "Nanna" (Noel) Runyan, 98, of Omaha died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Bergan Mercy Care Center in Omaha. Rosary was held Thursday at Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola. Services were Friday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Monsignor Daniel Pohl officiating. Mrs. Runyan was born Jan. 10, 1902, to William and Catherine (Billesbach) Noel in Heartwell. She grew up near Heartwell and attended Heartwell School. Mrs. Runyan was born Jan. 10, 1902, to William and Catherine (Billesbach) Noel in Heartwell. She grew up near Heartwell and attended Heartwell School. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Hastings and then from Teacher's Academy in Hastings in 1918. She taught in the Shiloh community elementary school south of Kenesaw for three years. She also taught seventh and eighth grades in Heartwell for three years. In June 1924, she married Russell Runyan in Heartwell. They farmed near Heartwell for many years. In 1981 they moved to Indianola. In 1982 her husband died. Survivors are two daughters, Mary Ann Carney and Kay Stommes, both of Omaha; two sons, William of Kenesaw and Jerry of Indianola; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
