| Description | : | Anna "Ann" Armstrong was the only daughter of John J. and Sophia (Stoffer) Blau. She had three brothers, Arnold, Walter and Virgil. Her father was a carpenter of German ancestry. She retired from Iowa State University. Ann was a volunteer at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, until her move to Des Moines to live with her daughter in April 2007. She enjoyed taking care of her home and her yard but especially loved spending time with her family. She was lovingly referred to as Grandma and Aunt Tootsie by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
