Description	:	Athens Messenger - January 15, 2008 ATHENS - Anna Sargent Pickett, 76, of Newberry, Fla., died at home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, after a long battle with heart trouble. Mrs. Pickett was born in Athens on Sept. 2, 1931, the only child of Carl and Ethel Sargent. After graduation from high school in 1948, she attended Ohio University for a year. She was past matron of the Harrisonville Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Pickett moved to Hollywood, Fla., in 1955, with her husband and children. Mrs. Pickett was born in Athens on Sept. 2, 1931, the only child of Carl and Ethel Sargent. After graduation from high school in 1948, she attended Ohio University for a year. She was past matron of the Harrisonville Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Pickett moved to Hollywood, Fla., in 1955, with her husband and children. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hollywood, where she taught children's Sunday school classes for 25 years. She also was a member of the Church of Christ in Newberry, Fla. Her family was the center of her life, and she was comforted with their presence at her passing.
