Description	:	Anna Schlichtemeier, daughter of Herman and Maria Freese, was born in the vicinity of Kramer on March 25, 1878. She was baptized in Kramer Lutheran church by Rev. Dornseif in October of the same year. Instructed in the Christian doctrines in the Lutheran Christian day school, she was confirmed by Rev. Huber in March 1890. Read More	Anna Schlichtemeier, daughter of Herman and Maria Freese, was born in the vicinity of Kramer on March 25, 1878. She was baptized in Kramer Lutheran church by Rev. Dornseif in October of the same year. Instructed in the Christian doctrines in the Lutheran Christian day school, she was confirmed by Rev. Huber in March 1890. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church all her life. On November 8, 1896 the deceased was united into holy matrimony with Mr. Carl Schlichtemeier. At first she lived with her husband on his farm two miles east of Kramer, but on account of his failing health, they moved to Kramer in 1909. Mr. Schlichtemeier died in 1918. Their union remained childless. Because of more convenient living facilities in Crete that probably would help in regaining her health, Mrs. Schlichtemeir moved with her mother, Mrs. Freese, from Kramer to Crete in October 1931. However, this did not relieve her suffering, which was caused by a tubercular spine. She died last Thurs morning, April 27th, at the age of 55 years, 1 month, and 2 days. She is survived by her mother. Her father died in 1926, and a brother was accidentally killed in 1908. These, as well as her husband, lie buried in the Kramer Lutheran cemetery. Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at Kramer Lutheran church. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery between the graves of her father and husband. Rev. Alb. H. Cholcher, her pastor for the last fourteen years, officiated. The pastor spoke both in German and English, using as his texts: Ps. 68, 20, and John 14: 1-6. He gave the deceased sister this testimony: That while he noticed on his frequent pastoral calls on her that her suffering was intense and almost indescribable, yet at all times confessed her faith and hope in the redemption of Christ. Above all she showed the fine Christian virtue of patience and fortitude, commended her suffering to God in fervent prayer, never murmured against her Lord, but willingly took upon herself her cross. She learned to understand the words of her Savior: "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."
