| Description | : | She was born November 9,1819 in Berks County Pennsylvania. The daughter of Ludwig and Catherine LUTZ Grimes. When Anna was sixteen years old her family moved to Ohio. In June of 1847 George Bowser married Anna Grimes. After George and Anna were married they remained living in Richland County until 1854. With new land being opened up for settlement, George and Anna moved westward to Iowa. George purchased 120 acres of land at the Dubuque Land Office for $1.25 per acre.
