Mrs. Anna Reisdorff, long-time respected resident of Butler county and David City, passed away at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, March 15, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Thomas, where she had resided for the past four years. Her death was due to her advanced age, 82 years, 7 months and 11 days. She was bedfast five days prior to her passing. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o'clock this (Thursday) morning at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, with Requiem High Mass by Rev. W. A. Murphy and singing by St. Mary's choir. Six nephews of Mrs. Reisdorff, Nick Hiller, Nick Piltz, Nick Remakel, P. N. Reisdorff, P. T. Reisdorff and J. J. Reisdorff, will be pallbearers. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Anna Hastert was Mrs. Reisdorff's maiden name. She was born in Mensdorf, Luxemburg, August 4, 1855. She was married to Charles Reisdorff in Chicago, Ill, August 19, 1874. The following spring Mr. and Mrs. Reisdorff moved to Nebraska and Butler county, purchasing a farm two miles north of David City. This was their home until 1897, when they purchased and moved on a farm south of Osceola, where Mr. Reisdorff died on February 26, 1915. Mrs. Reisdorff was the mother of eight children, five sons and three daughters, of whom one daughter, Elizabeth, passed away in 1904. The surviving children are Peter Reisdorff of Silver Creek, Mrs. J. H. Thomas of David City, James R. Reisdorff of Wellington, Colo., John R. Reisdorff and Mike R. Reisdorff of Shelby, Mrs. Frank Andre of Petersburg and John H. Reisdorff of Columbus. All were present at the funeral. Mrs. Reisdorff also leaves several grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Courady, of Mensdorf, Luxemburg, six years older than Mrs. Reisdorff. The parents died when Mrs. Reisdorff was only 11 years old. A kindly woman, devoted to her family, Mrs. Reisdorff made a host of friends during her lifetime. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Altar society. In 1922 she and a daughter, Ann, made a trip to Europe, which was much enjoyed by Mrs. Reisdorff as well as by her daughter.
