Anna C (Allison) Ask was born Jan 4, 1912, in Waukon, the daughter of John O and Olga (Ask) Allison. She was baptized at Glenwood Lutheran Church Feb 11, 1912, by the Rev Scarvie, and was confirmed Oct 24, 1926, at St John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. In high school, Anna was active in orchestra, band and as a band marjorette. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1930, and was a graduate of Waukon Junior College. She received her bachelor of art's degree from Iowa State Teacher College, now the University of Iowa, majoring in elementary education. Anna was married to Leonard W Ask on Oct 29, 1950, in Ettrick, Wis, by the Rev George Strum. Anna taught in rural schools in Allamakee county and in Glenwood, Iowa. She was an administrative assistant at the Allamakee county superintendent's office in Waukon. She also taught in the Decorah Public Schools, in special eduction, from 1956-73, when she retired. She had been a resident at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility for the past few years. Anna was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church, where she also was a circle and choir member. She belonged to the Farm Bureau Women's Chorus and the Wayside Garden Club. Survivors's include a sister-in-law, Irene Allison of Waukon, and several nieces and nephews. Anna Ask was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard, who died Sep 6, 1985; and by three brothers, Palmer Allison, James Allison, and Grant Allison.
