Description	:	Anna Herz was born in Illinois, July 26, 1868, the daughter of Wendell and Elizabeth Herz. While she was a small child her parents moved to Lawrence, Nebraska, where they engaged in farming. She was married when she was nineteen years of age to John Kempkes and for thirty-one years they farmed near Lawrence. They then moved to a farm six miles south of Blue Hill where they resided until the death of her husband on June 8, 1919, after which time Mrs. Kempkes made her home in Campbell until early in 1932 and resided with her... Read More	Anna Herz was born in Illinois, July 26, 1868, the daughter of Wendell and Elizabeth Herz. While she was a small child her parents moved to Lawrence, Nebraska, where they engaged in farming. She was married when she was nineteen years of age to John Kempkes and for thirty-one years they farmed near Lawrence. They then moved to a farm six miles south of Blue Hill where they resided until the death of her husband on June 8, 1919, after which time Mrs. Kempkes made her home in Campbell until early in 1932 and resided with her son Wm. Kempkes and family until she passed away on August 8, 1932. Three sons survive her, William of Bladen, John of Campbell and George of Superior; also two daughters, Ms. (sic) Ben Jurgensmeier of Lawrence, and Mrs. Will Sanders of Superior. Three brothers and one sister also mourn her death: Adam Herz of Minnesota, Jake Herz of Lawrence, Louis of blue Hill, and Mrs. Katherine Gross of Red Cloud. Funeral services were held from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Blue Hill at nine o'clock Thursday morning, August 11, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father A. Reimbold.
