Mother Haflich was born in Virginia Nov. 16, 1820. She moved to Ohio with her parents. She married Jacob Haflich Oct. 28, 1841, and moved to Indiana early in life and were among the early settlers of the county in which they lived. The devotion to her husband, children and church was a marked characteristic in her life; such mothers are known and remembered. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Houtz cemetery, (which is a part of the old home place,) July 14, 1897. We believe she has gone to fill one of those places prepared for the Saints.
