Taken With Fainting Spell While Returning From Town Falls Beneath Wagon of Lumber Mrs. Philipp Remp, 58, died Saturday, May 18, 1918, at a local hospital from injuries she received when she fell from a wagon returning from town. The cause of the accident is not known, no one saw her fall. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., May 21, from the Sacred Heart Church. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton, South Dakota. The accident took place at the Frank Walsh hill a few miles north of the Jim River bridge on the Walshtown road. A hired man working for Mat Nelson, had seen her on the wagon while he was working on the field. When he looked up again she was gone, so he went out to the road, stopped the horses and saw her a short distance down the road. Arthur Strunk happened along at that time and picked her up, taking her to Walsh’s gate. Here they were met by Mrs. Bert Lily, who took her in her car up to the Frank Walsh home, where Dr. Morehouse was summoned and her children were notified. Mrs. Rempp stated that she had become dizzy while riding along and fell from the seat on the wagon behind the horses. The wagon loaded with lumber, passed over her causing her injuries. After the children arrived, they took her immediately to the hospital, where she passed away. Anna Hruska was born April 1, 1860, in Vienna, Bohemia, the daughter of Frantisek and Anna (Kosner) Hruska. She came to the United States, with her parents when she was three years old. The family first lived in Iowa for about four years, until they moved to Tabor. She married Jan Wolf in 1889 and they were the parents of a son, Joseph Wolf. She married Philipp Rempp on December 11, 1892. Together they farmed near Walshtown. Philipp preceded her in death on December 1, 1915. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clifford Brewer of Tabor and Frances and Elizabeth Rempp, both of Walshtown; four sons, Joseph Wolfe, of Madison, Wisconsin, and Frank, John and George Rempp, all of Walshtown; three brothers, James (Frances) Hruska of Geddes and Josef (Sophie) Hruska and John Hruska, both of Tabor; and four sisters, Mary (Michael) Mader of Geddes, Frances (Joseph) Navratil of Tyndall, Katie (Joseph) Bartunik of Avon and Miss Josephine Hruska of Tabor; and several grandchildren.
