She had been bedfast since last November when she fell and broke her hip. Anna I. Owen, daughter of Washington and Lucinda Harris Owen, was born in Decatur county, Ia. Dec. 26, 1869, and died at the family home in Lineville, Aug. 3, 1946, being 77 years, 7 months and 7 days of age. She was the youngest of the family of ten children, all deceased. She had been bedfast since last November when she fell and broke her hip. Anna I. Owen, daughter of Washington and Lucinda Harris Owen, was born in Decatur county, Ia. Dec. 26, 1869, and died at the family home in Lineville, Aug. 3, 1946, being 77 years, 7 months and 7 days of age. She was the youngest of the family of ten children, all deceased. Her mother passed away when she was only three weeks old. An aunt, Mrs. Adeline Hubbard, took her in her home where she grew to young womanhood. She spent most of her life in Decatur and Wayne counties except for a short time in Indiana. She was united in marriage to Albert Baker on Dec. 25, 1868, and to this union seven children were born; Merlene Worley, Leon; Myrtle Baker, Des Moines, Hugh and Guy Baker and Blanche Nickell, Lineville; Nadine Keller, Richland, Wash., and Loris Baker, Everett, Wash. She also leaves, besides her loving husband and children, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was of Methodist faith and was active in church and Farm Bureau work as long as her health permitted. She had been a sufferer of arthritis for a number of years. Last November she fell and broke her hip and has since been bedfast. She was a patient sufferer, never complaining and appreciative of those who made her last days as cheerful and comfortable as possible. Mr. and Mrs. Baker celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary eight years ago. Funeral services, in charge of the Greenlee funeral home, Lineville, were conducted by Rev. Roy Donelson, Aug. 5, with interment in Evergreen cemetery.
