Her baptismal record gives her date of birth as 02. Dec. 1865. Census records list her as "Annie". For some reason, her obituary (transcribed below) lists her as Johanna. Death of a Young Lady. News was received in this city this morning of the death at the residence of her brother in Garryowen, of Miss Johanna Barrett, who died last night, at the early age of nineteen years. Miss Barrett, we are informed, was born in Garryowen, and had resided at that place up to the time of her demise. Her father Michael Barret and also her mother is dead, the former dying about seventeen years ago and the latter about three years since. Her brother, at whose residence she died, is a member of the firm of Barrett & Grace, storekeepers of Garryowen. Three brothers and two sisters are left to mourn over the loss of a kind sister. One of the sisters is living in the west and is the wife of a gentleman named Flynn, and one of her brothers is married and a resident of Bucktown. Miss Barrett was a quiet, unassuming young lady and a general favorite with the people of Garryowen, who greatly admired her for those graces and virtues which adorn the true lady. Her loss falls heavily upon her relatives, who are sympathized with by all their friends. The funeeral took place to-day at Garryowen and was largely attended.
