Description	:	Mrs. Anna K. Larsen Kjarsgaard died after a brief illness at her home in Newell township, two and one half miles southeast of Newell, Saturday, August 13, 1904, aged 55 years, 7 months and 14 days. She was born Dec. 29, 1848* in Harrild, Voxlev (Vokslev) Sogn, Jylland, Denmark and was married to Nels C. Kjarsgaard on June 24, 1870**. Immediately after their marriage they left Denmark for America, where they located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Larsen Kjarsgaard died after a brief illness at her home in Newell township, two and one half miles southeast of Newell, Saturday, August 13, 1904, aged 55 years, 7 months and 14 days. She was born Dec. 29, 1848* in Harrild, Voxlev (Vokslev) Sogn, Jylland, Denmark and was married to Nels C. Kjarsgaard on June 24, 1870*. Immediately after their marriage they left Denmark for America, where they located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After a little over a year's stay in Cedar Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Kjarsgaard came to Newell and made themselves a home southeast of town where they have resided ever since and from which place Mrs. Kjarsgaard was called to the better home. She was the mother of nine children, of whom four had preceded her to the better land. Five children and her husband remain to mourn the loss. She was a good woman, a good wife, a good mother and a good Christian. In May, 1894, she united with the Danish Baptist church, of which she was a faithful member until her death. The writer of this sketch, having been her pastor for nearly five years, will long remember her kindness and generosity and faithfulness as a member of the church. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased Monday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. P. Anderson. At the close of the services the remains were conveyed to the little churchyard on their own farm followed by a large concourse of neighbors and friends and laid to rest beside the graves of her four children in accordance to her own wishes stated previous to her death.
