Description	:	Anna Hanlin Dies at Age 75, who died at Mercy hospital in Marshalltown at 1:30 a.m. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery. Mrs. Hanlin fell and broke her hip Friday evening, Oct. 31, she was visiting her sister, Mrs. Elmer S. (Mabel) Colebaugh. Next day she was brought to the Marshalltown hospital so she could be near her friends. As Anna Kaziah Winterowd, daughter of Alonzo and Laura Welker Winterowd, she was born December 12, 1882, in Marshall county, Iowa. She attended school at Butlerville north of Montour and as a young woman she taught rural schools south and east of Montour. Her marriage to Charles H. Hanlin of Montour ocurred February 10, 1901. They made their home on a farm at Butlerville, north of Montour, where Mrs. Hanlin lived for 50 years. After her husband's death in 1944, Mrs. Hanlin remained on the farm except for winters she spent in Toledo. Two years ago she moved from the farm to the home of a friend, Mrs. Frank Ferneau. A year ago she moved to an apartment in Marshalltown, but returned to Mrs. Ferneau's home last Sept. 1 with the intention of spending the winter there. A grandson, Robert Hanlin. Surviving Mrs. Hanlin are three sons, Charles K., Edward, Clifford; and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. E.S. (Mabel) Colebaugh, and Mrs. Joseph (Laura) Ganninger. Mrs. Hanlin was a member of the Christian church when it was in LeGrand.
