Anna Klumke was born in the province of Hanover, Germany, on March 16, 1835, and died April 25, 1913, being 78 years, 1 month and 9 days old at the time of her death. Her parents died when she r-was a spent in the home of her grandmother. Her brother, J. H. Klumke, emigrated to America in 1849 and settled In Petersburg, 111., and four years later he returned to his native country for the purpose of bringing his only sister Anna to the United States. April 1, 1854, she married Carl Boeger, he too, being a native of Germany. In the fall of 1857 they moved to Clay township, Harrison county, Missouri. The family, after living there a few years moved to Decatur county, Iowa. The farm still remains in the possession of their son Richard. Four sons and one daughter came to bring cheer and love into their home, but the family circle was broken by the death of their father when they were mere children. In 1861 Mrs. Boeger and children moved to New Buda. At the close of the war her brother returned to New Buda, and in many ways filled the place of the husband ar.d father in the home. Mr. Klumke continued to live with his sister until his death, Oct. 28, 1905. Such love and companionship existed between this brother and sister is seldom seen. Especially were they drawn together as the children grew up and left to make new homes of their own. After the death of her brother, Mrs. Boeger moved to Davis City, in April 1906, where she has spent the remaining years of her life. For over fifty years she was a faithful wife to the memory of her husband In early life she was confirmed in the Lutheran church and remained a consistent believer of that faith until her heavenly Father called her to the better land. Several years ago death claimed the lives of her two spns, Augustus and Robert. There now xemain to mourn her death two sons, Richard of this vicinity and Ernest, of Washington, D. C„ and her daughter, Mrs.' John P. Kline, of Weldon, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held from the home of the deceased on Sunday afternoon, April 27, Rev. E. A. Place officiating. The body w'a.s followed to its last resting place in\| the old cemetery by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. It is dated Oct. 29, 1908. She bequeaths lots 9 and 10, block 4, Thompson's addition to Davis City, with the household goods to her daughter, Mrs. Emma Kline who is to pay the expenses of her illness and funeral expenses. She bequeaths to her sons, Charles Richard Boeger and Robert W. Boeger, $500 each and the balance of her estate she bequeaths in equal shares to her daughter, Mrs. Emma Kline and son Ernest A. Boeger. A codicil attached to the will says she has already paid to her son Robert W. Boeger the $500 during her life time, he is therefore left nothing out of her estate.
