Description	:	The Schuyler Sun, Thursday, March 8, 1928 Long Time Resident of Linwood Answers Call Mrs. Anna Wesley, 71, for the past 32 years a resident of the Linwood comjunity died at her home Tuesday after a severe illness of 11 days. The deceased was born January 16, 1857 at Verbice, Bohemia and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Koutnik, to America in 1872, locating on a farm 2 miles south of Linwood. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Joseph Vavra, and for a few years Mr. and Mrs. Vavra resided in Colfax county, moving later to Omaha. Five children... The deceased was born January 16, 1857 at Verbice, Bohemia and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Koutnik, to America in 1872, locating on a farm 2 miles south of Linwood. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Joseph Vavra, and for a few years Mr. and Mrs. Vavra resided in Colfax county, moving later to Omaha. Five children were born to this union. Mr. Vavra died in 1894. In November, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Wesley were united in marriage and moved immediately to the Linwood community which has since continued to be their home. To this union two children were born. The deceased is survived by the husband and seven children, Mrs. Emma Stava, Mrs. Rose Jean Freemon, Mrs. Otille Kerlin, Mrs. Anna Thomas, Jos. Vavra, Bessie and Albin Wesley, and one stepson, Frank Wesley; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ruzicka, Mrs. Antonio Barta, Mrs. Katherine Peltz, and one brother Josef Koutnik, all of whom reside in the Linwood community, with the exception of Mrs. Freemon who lives in Los Angeles, Mrs. Kerlin who resides at White River, S.D., and Albin Wesley of Omaha. Mrs. Wesley had been in poor health for the past several years. Her death, however, was due to a fall and injuries sustained 11 days before and when she received a broken arm and other injuries. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 o'clock from the C.S.P.S. hall, Rev. B.A. Fillipi officiating. People Banner, March 15, 1928 The members of the J.C.D. Lodge attended in a body and offered their beautiful tribute and service to their deceased sister. Singing was by Mrs. F. F. Mundil, Mrs. Addie Parks, Mrs. E.G. Hobart, Miss Agnes Franklin, Will and Alfred Tichacek. Songs were Jesus, Lover of My Soul; Go Bury Thy Sorrow; and Nearer My God To Thee. The pall bearers were John, Rudolph, Frank, Will and Albin Peltz and Joseph Barta, all nephews of the deceased. All the children were present at the funeral with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Rose Jean Freemon of Los Angeles, who with her little spent a few months visiting here recently. Out of town friends and relatives were Mrs. Otille Kerlin and daughters of White River, South Dakota, Albin Wesley and family of Omaha, Mrs. John Bezousek, Mrs. Chas. Cordes, Mrs. Kane Corry and daughter, Miss Lena, all from Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. John Codr and son of Ulysses, Mrs. W. W. Hobart and daughter of Fremont, and Mrs. B.G. Shaffer of Washington, Nebraska, Mrs. Joseph B. Hines of Wahoo, Mr. and Mrs. Cass McCormick of David City and many friends and relatives from Schuyler and Abie.
