Description	:	Mrs. Frank Gross Sr., a Knox county pioneer died at the home of her son in Bloomfield, Thursday at midnight. Mrs. Gross came to America in 1876, coming to Verdigre. On August 8, 1878 she was united in marriage to Frank Gross at Niobrara. They took up a homestead four miles north of Verdigre. Four sons were born to this union; Joseph of Verdel, Oscar of Bloomfield, Emil of Verdigre and Frank of Pierce. On August 8, 1878 she was united in marriage to Frank Gross at Niobrara. They took up a homestead four miles north of Verdigre. Four sons were born to this union; Joseph of Verdel, Oscar of Bloomfield, Emil of Verdigre and Frank of Pierce. In 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Gross moved from their farm to Verdigre, where on November 15, 1926, Mr. Gross passed away. Since his death, she has made her home with her son, Oscar of Verdigre, later moving to Bloomfield. Mrs. Gross was a patient sufferer for several years and all that kind and loving friends and her family could do was of no avail. She was called away to join her Maker. Mrs Gross belonged among that great company of pioneers who laid the foundations of all our present happy and prosperous community life in Knox county. Funeral services were conducted at the home in Bloomfield and at the Methodist church in Niobrara, Sunday by Rev. R.F. Parley.
