Anna was a resident of Eads, Colorado at the time of her passing. Brown Funeral Directors July 2016. ----- Anna Lee Martin was born August 4th, 1933 to Homer and Francis Martin in the railroad section house in Wildhorse, Colorado. She was born the third of 10 kids, five boys and five girls. Growing up as the daughter of a section foreman they moved several times with the railroad. First to Hugo, CO, next on to Mulligan, CO, where Anna Lee worked as a waitress, then eventually back to eastern Colorado settling in First View. As a young girl Anna Lee helped her mom taking care of all her younger siblings. In 1949 Anna Lee met Loren "Bud" Dwyer, a local young farmer, at the Post Office. After a whirlwind romance, they eloped to Raton, New Mexico to be married by a Justice of the Peace. Upon returning, they made their home south of First View on the farm that Bud was a partner in with his Uncle Paul Forward. Paul proved to be very valuable to Anna Lee. After many hours of lessons and trial and error under the guidance of Paul, Anna Lee began to perfect her cooking skills. This later led to many blue ribbons at the county fair for her Angel Food Cakes, which also became a favorite at the local bake sales. Anna Lee decided she wanted to be married in the Catholic Church. Unaware to Bud, Anna Lee would go to town to take catechism classes. On May 3rd, 1952 they were remarried at the Catholic Parsonage with Jack and Emma Larsen as witnesses. In 1951, they welcomed their first son, Ricky Dean followed by Dale Edward in 1954 and daughter Nancy Ann in 1957. Although Anna Lee was a homemaker, she was never the type to sit back and watch life happen. She pitched in on the farm when needed and some of her favorite hobbies included sewing, gardening and fishing and she always had a spotless house. She was also an avid supporter of the schools and sports activities as well as the Altar Society. One of their favorite Saturday night activities was attending the dances in the basement of Lee and Marie Unruh's to party and dance the night away. In 1980, they sold the farm and moved to Cheyenne Wells with the intention of retiring. Bud didn't take being retired well and began working for Cheyenne County Road and Bridge. Anna Lee continued to be a homemaker. They enjoyed living in town, being close to family and friends. Many nights were spent enjoying company out on the porch, playing cards and their annual nut fry was not to be missed. Trips to Branson were yearly adventures as they loved to travel, many times with the company of the Munsch's, Larsen's, Gerky's and Feyh's. In 1990 Bud was diagnosed with cancer and in June of 1997 they sold their house and moved to Windsor, Colorado to be closer to the doctors. It didn't take long for them to make new friends and learn the city life. Bud passed away in 1998. Anna Lee continued to live in Windsor for an additional 8 years helping to take care of her mother and enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters. Following the death of her mother, in 2006 Anna Lee once again moved back to Cheyenne Wells for the final time. On July 18, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's, Anna Lee passed away at Brookdale Memory Care Unit in Loveland, CO. Anna Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Francis Martin, husband Bud, son Rick, granddaughter Lisa Marie, brothers, Raymond, Joe and Don, sisters Helen, Minnie and Rozella . She is survived by son, Dale, and his wife, Glenda Dwyer of Cheyenne Wells, CO, daughter Sr. Nancy of Mitchell, South Dakota, and daughter-in-law Kathy Dwyer-Keefe, and husband Gerald of Cheyenne Wells, CO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Andrea (Russell Elliott) Dwyer, Sally (Matt) Lahm, Paul (Lindi) Dwyer, Lori (Craig) Rosales, BJ (Michelle) Dwyer, James (Sara) Dwyer and Hillary Dwyer; Great Grand Children: Tori, Wyatt, Axle, Elexx and Xzavier Lahm; Jayda, Joslyn, Janessa and Jentri Dwyer; Estes, Tyson and Vincent Rosales, Cody and Tannah Fox, Averiann and Titus Dwyer, and Hunter and Dean Dwyer and by Sister Lois Martin and brothers Richard and Clem Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
