Read More	Adair County Free Press May 11, 1966 Anna Lela Thiele Miller, daughter of George Thiele and his wife Mary Cavanaugh, was born on August 23, 1903, in Guthrie County, Iowa. She was baptized in the Name of the Triune (sic) God in her infancy. Her formal education was received in the rural schools of Adair County in the Fontanelle High School and two years at the State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She served as a teacher in the rural school of Adair County for seven years and in the Greenfield grade schools for a period of two years. After being instructed in the Doctrine of the Word of God, she was confirmed in Emmanuel Lutheran Church on January 1, 1933, the Rev. W.H. Kurtz, pastor. On Feb. 26, 1933, she was united in marriage with Oscar T. Miller at the Emmanuel Lutheran Parsonage, Fontanelle, the Rev. W.H. Kurtz, pastor. She and her husband Oscar started farming in Eureka township immediately after their marriage and farmed on various farms for a period of 13 years. In the fall of 1947, she with her husband moved to Fontanelle, where she spent the remainder of her earthly life. Mrs. Miller was stricken with arthritis in 1945 and lived with this crippling disease for 21 years. She bore this cross without murmuring and found strength to bear this burden through her faith in her Lord and kind care of her husband. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a very active part in the women's organization of the congregation, often sharing with the ladies many articles and books she had read in the field of Christian literature, as well as the Word of God. As a result of a fall at her home, she entered the hospital at Greenfield, Iowa, and submitted to surgery on Saturday evening, April 30. Her condition grew steadily worse on Monday, May 2, and at 6:30 p.m. on May 2 she passed quietly from this life at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 12 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Margaret, and a brother Neis. Survivors include her husband Oscar, of Fontanelle; one sister Velma, and her husband's brother Rudolph Miller of Fontanelle; one niece, Mrs. Don Shade of Glenwood; one nephew Mickey Thiele of Lincoln, Nebraska, besides other relatives and many friends in her church and community where she spent her entire life.
