Anna was born April 4, 1937 in Falls City, NE to George and Grace (Hackworth) Combs. Anna grew up in Falls City and moved to Fremont in the early 1960's. She married Eugene D. "Gene" Houser on September 7, 1967 in Yankton, S.D. Gene died June 25, 2003. Anna worked as a nurses' aid in area nursing homes and the hospital in Fremont until retiring in 1992. Anna was born April 4, 1937 in Falls City, NE to George and Grace (Hackworth) Combs. Anna grew up in Falls City and moved to Fremont in the early 1960's. She married Eugene D. "Gene" Houser on September 7, 1967 in Yankton, S.D. Gene died June 25, 2003. Anna worked as a nurses' aid in area nursing homes and the hospital in Fremont until retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and the women's ministry at the church. She did volunteer work for the Salvation Army Can Do Program and the Toy Shop. She was an advocate for Children’s Literacy and loved embroidery and quilting. Anna is survived by daughters, Gigi and husband, Mick Ferrin of Fremont and Judy and husband, Joe Gabriel of Sioux City, IA; sons, Jeffery and wife, Kimberly Houser of Fremont, John and wife, Chantelle Houser of Nickerson, NE and Dean and wife, Diane Grantham of Grand Island, NE; brothers, Ernest and wife, Lea Combs of Pacific Junction, IA and Samuel and wife, Caroline Combs of Pittsburg, MO; sisters, Martha Wisdom and Judith Williamson both of Falls City, NE; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; daughter, Julie Godwin; son, Jerry Grantham; and granddaughter, Cassandra Houser. Funeral service will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 PM to 7 PM with family receiving friends from 5 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel. Major Abe Tamayo and Lieutenant Tim North will officiate.
