Anna Vietor was born Feb. 11, 1920 on a farm south of Lennox, the daughter of Peter W. and Ida (Vietor) Vietor. She attended Vietor District #86 rural school. On Aug. 5, 1941 she was united in marriage to John E. Rops at her parental home south of Lennox. Following their marriage they farmed three miles east of Davis and later moved to their farm southwest of Lennox where they lived most of their married life. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1996. She continued to live on the farm and moved into Lennox in September of 2005. She was an active member of Turner County First Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father on Nov. 8, 1980 and her mother on Jan. 30, 1982. Grateful for having shared her life are her three children: Arlin Rops and his wife, Judy, of rural Lennox, Elda Gall of Ocean, New Jersey and Charlene Haan and her husband, Jeff, of rural Davis; seven grandchildren: Steve (Tish) Rops, Tom (Jodi) Rops, Ben Rops, Lacy (Tony) Marrucca, Lindsey Gall, Rachel Haan and Jonathan Haan; eight great-grandchildren: Justin Rops, Charles Rops, William Rops, Trenton Rops, Jayson Rops, Maria Rops, Kalelle Marrucca and John Marrucca; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
