BROCHTRUP PASSED ON Funeral Services in St. Mary's Catholic Church Monday Mrs. Charles Brochtrup, long-time resident of Butler county and David City, passed away at 11:45 o'clock Friday evening, Jan. 30, from heart trouble, following illness of a week in the David City hospital. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. A. Murphy, were held in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Music was by St. Mary's choir. The pallbearers were Albert Bongers, Frank Eiting, Barney Eiting, Lawrence Kearney, John Lanspa and Peter Vanderheiden. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery, David City. Relatives from elsewhere in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Brochtrup's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brochtrup, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Russell Wellever, of North Platte. Anna Margaret Axemaker, a daughter of Henry and Anna Axemaker, was born in Richland county, Wisconsin, May 18, 1861, and at time of her death was in her 81st year. She came to Nebraska when a small child and lived in Center, where her marriage to Charles Brochtrup took place on January 10, 1888. To them were born two sons, Bernard Brochtrup of David City and Lawrence Brothtrup of North Platte. Mrs. Brochtrup also leaves one granddaughter, Mrs. Lucille Wellever of North Platte, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Brochtrup moved to David City in 1920, Mr. Brochtrup passing away in August, 1940. Mrs. Brochtrup was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic church, and had made many friends during her lifetime. ____ Card of Thanks - We extend our sincere thanks for all the help and kindness shown us by neighbors, friends and relatives during illness and at time of death of our dear mother, also for spiritual and floral offerings.
