Burial will be at the Hecla Cemetery, near Hecla. Anna Maria Geffre, daughter of Joseph and Johanna (Selzler) Geffre, was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Strasburg, N.D. Ann lived and worked in Ellendale, N.D. for many years. She was married to Roy Bushby on April 26, 1967, in Webster. The couple lived and farmed in the Hecla area. Ann entered the Oakes Good Samaritan Center in 2001. She loved arts, crafts and activities of all kinds including ceramics, macrame, flower gardening, golfing, bowling, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed preparing great feasts for large family gatherings at holidays and other occasions. Ann died on Sunday, June 19, 2005, at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center. She was 76 years old. She is survived by her husband Roy, Hecla; five sons, Dennis Schimke, Edgeley, N.D., Jesse Schimke, Reno, Nev., Derwin Bushby and Randy (Kelly) Bushby, all of Hecla; and Perry Bushby, Rapid City; eight brothers, Sebastian (Ambrosia), Andy (Madaline), and Pete (Ferne) all of Lindsay, Okla.; Paul (Bernie), Ephrata, Wash., Denny (Brenda) and Irvin (Marge), all of Mound, Minn., Bill (Kathy), Oakes, N.D., and Joe, Mound, Minn.; four sisters, Jean (Ernest) Schimke, Ephrata, Wash., Helen (Jerry) Christensen, Golden Valley, Minn., Teresa (Alden) Erickson, Mound, Minn., and Peggy (Bill) Murphy, Buffalo, Minn.; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Ann in death are her parents, one brother Charles, a sister, Eva Steiner, and two daughters-in-law, Darcy Bushby and Olive Marie Schimke. Pallbearers for the funeral will be Ann's grandchildren: Landon Bushby, Lance Bushby, Bryce Bushby, Brady Bushby, Jodi Bushby, and Valerie Schimke.
