Description	:	Anna Marie Bartels was the 7th of 11 children born to German immigrants August and Lena Bartels, on their farm in Saline County, Nebraska south of Tobias. She was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church near her parents' home. In 1906 her parents moved from Nebraska to Jerauld County, South Dakota outside of Alpena, and she attended school there through the sixth grade. She is buried in California. 2. Rollas Lamar (3 Nov 1918-8 Oct 2000) who married Doris Mae Peterson. He is buried in Cullman County, Alabama. 3. Arlene Larue (20 Apr 1921-13 May 1998) who married first Frank S. Wiand and second Donald Koch. 4. Doris Ione (28 Jun 1925-8 Mar 2009) who married George Meier. She is buried in Rapid City, South Dakota. 5. Neda Joyce (29 Sep 1930-25 Nov 2009) who married first Melvin Ernster and second Ervin Fenske. She is buried in the Wolsey Cemetery at Wolsey, South Dakota. 6. Richard Wylie (1 Dec 1932-5 Apr 2008) who married Macy Piper. He is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Huron, South Dakota. -------------------------------------------- Find a Grave volunteer Barb Jones provided this obituary from "The Daily Plainsman", Sunday, 20 Nov 1977, p6 c7: Mrs. Anna Davis Mrs. Wylie (Anna) Davis, Wolsey, died early Saturday at the Huron Nursing Home at the age of 82. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Riverview United Methodist church with the Rev. Earl Stucke officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday or Monday afternoon or evening at the Welter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons James Meier, Darold Wiand, Steve and Michael Ernster, Richard Davis and Rodney Dilley. Anna Marie Bartels was born April 28, 1895, at Tobias,Neb., to August and Lena Bartels. At the age of 10 she came to the Lane area with her parents. She married Wylie Davis, Sept. 15, 1915, at Woonsocket. They farmed in the Alpena area until 1930 when they moved to Sand Creek Township where they farmed until moving to Huron in 1965. In June 1976 she moved to Wolsey where she resided until her illness. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Everette (Edric)Wiand, Covina, Calif., Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Koch, Mrs. Melvin (Neda) Ernster, both of Wolsey, Mrs. George (Doris) Meier, Gettysburg, 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Scheel, Wolsey, Mrs. Sophia Garbe, Huron; two brothers, Martin Bartels, Spearfish, Albert Bartels, Mitchell; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oct. 8, 1974, one grandson, Larry Davis, great-granddaughter, Vicki Schnabel, three brothers, August, Fred and Herman Bartels, two sisters, Ida Scheel and Lydia Pawlowski. The family is to meet Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. at the Funeral home.
