Description	:	Emma Dick was born in southeast Russia Colony Norka, on October 27, 1858. She lived there with her parents until she reached the age of nineteen years. She was united in marriage to John Lofing in 1878 and emigrated to the United States, settling at Sutton, Clay county, Nebraska, where they resided for nine years. She was united in marriage to John Lofing in 1878 and emigrated to the United States, settling at Sutton, Clay county, Nebraska, where they resided for nine years. Ten children were born into this union; one son preceding her in death in 1918. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, John Loffing, and nine children: Mrs. Kate Nuss and Mrs. Grace Ochsner of Sutton, Nebraska, Mrs. Lena Wey of Peru, Nebraska, Mrs. Lizzie Lusk of Ansley, Nebraska; Mrs. Emma Moffit of Ravenna, Nebraska, Mrs. Marie Elkins of Mt. Vernon, Washington, John Jr., Samuel and Lydia of Hartford, Kansas. Other surviving relatives are one brother, Conrad Dick of Fairmont and one half-brother, John Yost of Hastings, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Peter Meininger of Fort Morgan, Colorado, and sixteen grandchildren. From Sutton, the family came to Fairmont, where Mrs. Lofing spent the rest of her life, with the exception of the last year. In the spring of 1922, the family moved to their new home in Kansas, where Mrs. Lofing passed away. Mrs. Lofing was converted when fifteen years of age, and joined the Baptist church. She was a faithful Christian and attended the Methodist church in this city. Her supreme loyalty was the church and the home. She was a faithful and loving mother, nothing being too great a task for her to perform for her family. For over a year she had poor health. After a suffering illness of about three weeks, she passed quietly out of this life, at her home near Hartford, Kansas, Sunday, June 17, 1923. She had attained the age of sixty-four years, seven months and twenty days. The remains were brought to Fairmont Wednesday morning, accompanied by the husband, sons, John and Samuel and daughter, Miss Lyda. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. V.C. Wright, was in charge. Out of town relatives and friends attending were: George Alt, Mr. and Mrs. Peter L. Nuss, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ochsner and children, Edgar and Ester, of Sutton; Mrs. Lizzie Lusk of Ansley; Mrs. N.D. Moffit and two children of Ravenna, Mrs. Julius Wey of Peru; Misses Bertha and Edith Klein of Lincoln, Edward Klein of Sutton, Mrs. Barbara Yost of Hastings, Mrs. Elizabeth Kahler of York, besides the family from Kansas.
