Read More	OBITUARY Anna Maria Morgan Allen was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 28, 1915 to David J. and Amanda M. Morgan. She passed away on November 2, 2001, at the Brighton Care Facility in Brighton, Colorado. In 1917, Anna and her family moved from Kansas City to adjoining Independence, Missouri. Anna spent her youth in Independence, graduating from high school in 1935. After graduation her first job was with German Bakeries, Inc. Anna took her job to heart as she got the distinct pleasure of being the fastest wrapper on the Line. She was able to wrap 13 cakes in a minute! She was proud of that. It was during the summer Anna went to Lamoni, Iowa to visit a cousin. While visiting she met Roland Henry Allen. It was an instant like and they soon began to date. On June 29, 1941, she and Henry were married by a Justice of the Peace in Richmond, Mo. Witnessing their marriage were Jane DeLong and Vivian Goodrich. After a short honeymoon in the Ozarks, they made their home in Lamoni. Their first apartment was over Condit's Store. Their first child, a daughter, Margaret Marie, was born on September 5, 1942. However, "Little Peggy, " as they called her, passed away in January of 1943. Their grief was softened when they were blessed with two more children, Patricia L. on March 17, 1944, and John Truman on March 20, 1947. Over the years Anna remained active, especially with her love for children as she engaged in child care for several years. Later she went to work at Graceland College's food service department, a job she held for a number of years. Henry died on April 28, 1972. Around that time she went to Des Moines to be with daughter Pat. During this time she was employed by Iowa Methodist Hospital. In 1975 health problems caused her to retire. Moving back to Lamoni she once again found contentment in watching children. In 1979 Anna and Pat moved to Longmont, Colorado to be nearer to John and his family. In 1989 they moved to Lafayette, Colorado, still staying close to the rest of the family. During this period child care still occupied her time. Anna called here wee charges "Darling Little Angels sent from Heaven". In 1999 Anna's health began to fail and she took residency at Brighton Care Facility in Brighton, Colorado. She remained there until her death on November 2, 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland Henry, and a daughter Margaret Marie. She is survived by daughter Patricia L. Allen of Brighton, Colo.; a son, John T. Allen of Brighton; a brother Gerald E. Morgan and wife Marjorie of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Clara Myrick of Lamoni, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Tim of California; Todd of Florida; Jeanie of Brighton, Colo., Susie of Westminister, Colo., and Tiffany of California; 6 great-grandchildren: Tina, Jenny, Jerry, John, Kianna all of Colorado and Thor of Florida; 1 great-great-grandchild, Precious of Colo., several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends mourn her passing. Anna's cremains were laid to rest next to her husband Henry, on Saturday, November 17, 2001, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni, Iowa. Officiating at the graveside service were Elder David O.
