Description	:	Anna Marie Zens, 86, Alexandria, died Thursday, Aug 16, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church, Alexandria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the church with a 7 pm prayer service. She was born on May 9, 1921, in Farmer, to George and Mary Ellen (Breen) Roster. She graduated from Farmer High School in 1939. On Jan. 18, 1945, she married Raymond Zens and they lived in Farmer. She was employed as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in her early years, and then as a cook at Hanson School for 27 years. She moved to Alexandria in 1983. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Farmer and St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Fulton, Farmer and Epiphany, the Sacred Heart League and Foresters. She was a volunteer at Avera Queen of Peace for 22 years. She is survived by her children: Carol Mayhew and husband Skip, Austin, Minn; Connie Bennett and husband, Bill, Alexandria; Gene and wife Sandy, Bird Island, Minn.; Jerry and wife Deb; and Jim and wife Jeanette, all of Alexandria; and Julie Doorn and husband Kevin, Mitchell; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; her parents; and an infant sister.
