Description	:	William Sherman Moore and Anna Marie Schafer married 26 November 1914 in Greene, Iowa, as per St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran church records. They had seven children, all born in Iowa. Anne Marie Schafer was the second of six children born on the family farm SE of Dougherty, Iowa to German immigrants John Valentine Schafer and Katie Schul [or Schuel]. She acquired an insatiable desire to read but with a large family of seven children, she didn't find time to read as much as she desired until all had left the nest. During Anna's last 3-1/2 years, which were spent in the Care Center at Sheffield, she read the daily newspaper, two weekly papers, several religious magazines and her Bible in addition to carrying on a heavy correspondence and attending activities at the Care Center. Her memory and mind were good until the last. "She had always had a large garden. Loved her plants in the house and in the garden. Always said she didn't have time to do fancy work (embroidery, crocheting etc) but she did make all her own patterns and sewed most of her own dresses and dresses for her three daughters. "She took catechism and was baptized in the Lutheran Church. Later joining the Baptist Church in Sheffield where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. "Anna was of such strong stock that it took complications of diabetes, congestive heart failure and cancer to end her life on this earth.
