Description	:	Mrs. W.A. Hoobler of Madison died at the Basham Hospital in Eureka, Monday, January 4, 1942, following a long illness. She was well known in this community having lived here for the past thirty-four years. Anna Martha, daughter of Thomas and Mary Evans, was born January 20, 1871, at Ottawa, Kansas, and departed from this life January 4, 1943, at Basham Hospital, Eureka, Kansas, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 15 days. Hoobler of Madison died at the Basham Hospital in Eureka, Monday, January 4, 1942, following a long illness. She was well known in this community having lived here for the past thirty-four years. Anna Martha, daughter of Thomas and Mary Evans, was born January 20, 1871, at Ottawa, Kansas, and departed from this life January 4, 1943, at Basham Hospital, Eureka, Kansas, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 15 days. At the age of 15 years she united with the United Brethren Church. On October 1, 1891, she was married to William A. Hoobler of Lecompton, Kansas. Mr. Hoobler passed away December 1, 1941. In 1909 they moved to a farm near Madison where they resided until 1939 when they moved to Madison. Surviving are three sons, Vern, of St. Marys, Kansas; Clarence, of Lamont, and Roy of Madison; two daughter, Mrs. Ethel Duncan of Augusta, Kansas, and Mrs. Pearl Tillman of Gary, Indiana; three daughter-in-laws, two son-in-laws; twenty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers,, Milt Evans of Topeka, and Earl Evans of Yaklma, Washington, and a host of other relatives and friends. A daughter, Blanche, died October 1, 1897, at the age of one year. Funeral service was held Thursday, January, at the Madison Methodist Church, with Rev. R.C. Saferite, conducting the service. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Bartlett, Mr. Geo. Hyle and J.E. Pritchard, furnished music. Interment was made in the Blakely Cemetery. From Eureka Herald 14 January 1942 page 3.
