Description	:	Mrs. John E. Iverson, well known especially by many of the older people of this vicinity, passed away at the home of her son Iver Johnson at Sharon, Sunday morning. During the past few years she often visited here with her sons, Ed. S. Johnson and John A. Dahl, but spent the greater part of the time at the home of her son, Iver Johnson. Mrs. Iverson was born in Helgeland, Northern Norway on the 21st of September 1841 and would have reached her 88th year had she lived for two more weeks. Together with... Read More	Mrs. John E. Iverson, well known especially by many of the older people of this vicinity, passed away at the home of her son Iver Johnson at Sharon, Sunday morning. During the past few years she often visited here with her sons, Ed. S. Johnson and John A. Dahl, but spent the greater part of the time at the home of her son, Iver Johnson. Mrs. Iverson was born in Helgeland, Northern Norway on the 21st of September 1841 and would have reached her 88th year had she lived for two more weeks. Together with her husband, she came to the United States on July 13, 1889 and they first made their home at Georgeville, Minn. They lived there until 1906 [sic 1909] when they came to Hatton and for several years lived on a farm east of this city. Mr. Iverson died in 1919 and since that Mrs. Iverson made her home with her children here and at Sharon. Mrs. Iverson leaves to mourn her death, six sons and one daughter. They are Ed. S. Johnson of this city, Mrs. Ida Hanson of Minneapolis, John A. Dahl of Hatton, Carl and Iver Johnson of Sharon, Alfred Johnson of Wildrose, N.D., and Berger T. Johnson of Mayville. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held yesterday from Our Saviors Church here and the remains were laid beside those of her husband in the Lutheran Cemetery north of the city. Rev. Iver Sandberg of Barrett, Minn., a relative of the deceased, conducted the funeral services."--Hatton Free Press, Sept. 12, 1929.
