Description	:	Anna Melissa Thompson was born Feb. 16, 1870 near Dubuque, Ia., and died at Albion Sept. 2, 1967 at the age of 97. When a small child her parents moved to Harlan, Ia., where she grew to womanhood and on Feb. 23, 1888 she was united in marriage to Franklin Blough. To this union six children were born. In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. Blough moved to Boone County. They were farmers by vocation and during their active years they built four farm homes. On their retirement from the farm they moved to Albion where for some... Read More	Anna Melissa Thompson was born Feb. 16, 1870 near Dubuque, Ia., and died at Albion Sept. 2, 1967 at the age of 97. When a small child her parents moved to Harlan, Ia., where she grew to womanhood and on Feb. 23, 1888 she was united in marriage to Franklin Blough. To this union six children were born. In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. Blough moved to Boone County. They were farmers by vocation and during their active years they built four farm homes. On their retirement from the farm they moved to Albion where for some years they served as custodians for the Albion Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Blough celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1938 and had Mr. Blough lived five months longer they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were members of the Methodist Church in Boone County since 1901. Mrs. Blough celebrated her 97th birthday last Feb. 16 at the Wolf Memorial Center where she lived the past several years. Surviving are one son, Rev. L. N. Blough of Whittier, Calif., three daughters, Maude Swanson of Albion, Mabel Sandberg of Lincoln, and Alta Swanson of Vancouver, Wash., one brother, Martin Thompson of Omaha, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Kasselder of Albion and Mrs. Grace Petersen of Ogallala. Her husband and two sons preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5 in the First Methodist church in Albion with the Rev. Woodrow Leypoldt officiating. Pallbearers were Adolph Liss, Donald Johnson, James Donscheski, Robert Kaumanns, John Bartzatt and Robert Sandberg. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
