ANNA CONRAD DIED VERY SUDDENLY FOUND DIED IN HER BED LAST SUNDAY MORNING-HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE. Death Occurred at Home of Her Son Thomas Where She Was Visiting Mrs. Anna Conrad, wife of the late Robert Conrad, passed away at the home of her son Thomas, east of New Vienna some time early Sunday morning, her death being very sudden and was due to heart failure. Mrs. Conrad whose home was on West Victoria street, in Dyersville went out to the home of her son several days prior to her demise for a visit. She was apparently in good health the day before and spent some time Saturday evening conversing with the family, before she retired, and she was a wake about one o'clock when she spoke to some members of the household. At five o'clock her son went to her room to call her and upon receiving no answer walked up to her bed and found her cold in death. A physician was summoned, who pronounced her death due to heart failure. Deceased's maiden name was Miss Anna Meyer and was born on a farm three miles south of Luxemburg, on December 25, 1854, and was therefore 61 years, 1 month and 12 days old at the time of her demise. She received her education in the rural and parochial schools of that place On February 17, 1874, she was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Conrad, in Holy Trinity church, Luxembourg, Rev. Father Oberbroeckling officiating, after which they went to housekeeping on their farm east of New Vienna upon which their son Tom resides. Ten children were born to the, six of whom are living. They are Margaret, Mrs. John Jeger, Balltown; Will on the homestead; Sophia, Mrs. Mike Ries, Luxembourg; Tom of near Bankston; Martha, Mrs. Nic Konzen, of Peosta, and Marie at home. Mr. Conrad preceded her to the grave on January 31, 1904, 12 years ago. Mrs. Conrad remained on the farm with her children until 7 years ago, when her son Will took possession of the farm she purchased a home in Dyersville, and has resided here ever since. Besides her children she is also survived by te following brothers and sisters, will Meyer, of Parkston, S.D.; Margaret, Mrs. John Weines of Platt, S.D.; Nic Meyer of Holy Cross; Peter Meyer, of Holy Cross; Mrs. Adolph Demith, of Pierce, Minn.; J. P. Meyer, of Holy Cross, and Kate, Mrs. M.Licter, of Wartago, S. D. The funeral took place last Wednesday morning, at ten o'clock from the home of her son Will, to New Vienna, where requiem mass was read by Rev. Father Thole, after which her earthly remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in St. Boniface cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs Alois Oberbroeckling, Frank Osterhaus, Bernard Engelken, Louis Becker, George Heusler, and Frank Klostermann. The news of the sudden death of Mrs. Conrad comes as a sad blow to her children and relatives and is received with sorrow by her numerous friends. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and has adhered strictly to its teachings. Her life was devoted to her children and when death removed her life partner some years ago, the responsibilities falling heavily upon her the true royal spirit and love for her family was all the more manifested in the solicitude and consideration of those entrusted under her care. Mrs. Conrad was a good neighbor and kind friend and will be missed not only from the family ties, but by all who knew her as well." Written at bottom by Joan Wilwert died Feb 6, 1916.
